It also keeps me full and energised for hours. I always crave something sweet in the morning too. Porridge is perfect as you can add a little bit of sweetness and any toppings you wish!

Carrot Cake Porridge Recipe


  • 1 large grated carrot
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup regular oats
  • 1 tbsp chopped walnuts, divided
  • 1 tbsp raisins divided
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp shredded coconut for garnish


  1. In a pot over medium heat, add the milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, oats and grated carrot.
  2. Cook for around 5-7 minutes stirring often.
  3. Once thickened to your desired consistency remove from heat and add the nuts, raisin, coconut flakes and maple syrup
