These Chocolate Cacao energy Balls are the perfect recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth. The cacao really gives you the chocolate fix without causing a sugar slump. In fact cacao has been proven to improve your mood and energy levels. I’ve been having a few of these after dinner and they really hit the spot.
These really are good for you and all natural, so can be enjoyed completely guilt free. Energy balls are becoming more and more popular as a snack. Many food stores now stock these. Although I think it’s much more fun and money effective to make you own!
Dates – the primary ingredient, are rich in minerals and vitamins such as B-vitamins and are very low in fat.
Cacao – is amazing for you, it contains many essential minerals such as, magnesium calcium, sulfur, zinc, iron, copper, potassium, and manganese. As well as vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B9, E, protein, fibre and healthy monounsaturated fat.
Cashews – are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These include vitamins E, K, and B6, plus minerals like copper, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, iron, and selenium.
- 1 cup of raw cashews
- 1 cup of pitted dates
- 2 tbsp of raw cacao powder plus 2 tbsp for rolling
- Pinch of pink salt
- 1 tbsp of water
- Blitz the nuts in your food processor.
- Add in the rest of the ingredients and blitz
- Roll them with the palm of your hands to make the ball shapes
- Roll in the remaining cacao and keep in the fridge
