How to Make an Acai Bowl with Acai Powder, for a healthy dessert, breakfast or snack
I am pretty sure you have heard the phrase “acai bowl”or have seen the amazing pictures of them on Pinterest or Instagram!) . If you ever wondered how to make one then you have came to the right place.
Acai bowls are one of the biggest wellness trends right now and I personally love them so much that I thought I would share my recipe with you!
So first up.. what is Acai?
Acai is a South American palm tree which produces small berries that look very similar to the blueberries. The berries are packed with antioxidants and contain excellent amounts of iron, calcium, fiber, and vitamin A which are great for health and for keeping your skin clear and glowing.
Acai can be brought fresh, frozen or in a dried form.
Most acai bowl recipes use the frozen pulp, but that is quite difficult to get hold of in the UK. Which is why I use powder acai. I used this one which also organic and the best value for money that I have found.
What is an Acai Bowl?
An acai bowl is acai blended with fruit to make a thick smoothie which you can eat with a spoon from a bowl.
You can top your smoothie bowl with anything you like. I love adding fresh fruit, bee pollen chia seed flax seeds, cacao nibs and shredded coconut!

Recipe- How to make an Acai Bowl
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup berries
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 cup spinach
- optional 1 tsp maple syrup
- 4 tbsp acai powder
- Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smoothie
- Add a little more water or almond milk if the mixture is too thick, it should be a bit thicker than a regular smoothie
