Mocha Chocolate Breakfast Smoothie for a healthy and nourishing start to the day
This mocha chocolate smoothie will give you that little chocolate fix in the healthiest way.
This is possibly the best chocolate smoothie recipe I ever created – which is why I love it so much. It’s great for mornings when you need a little chocolate fix, but still need a really nourishing breakfast. This chocolate recipe is low in calories and full of healthy nutrients, to make you feel good and to keep your skin clear and glowing.
I’ve called this a breakfast smoothie, but really it can be joined any time of day. Pre or post workout or any time you get chocolate cravings.
I’m obsessed with chocolate (like everyone!), so I really wanted to create a creamy chocolate smoothie that was completely healthy and nutritious. This is so thick and creamy it tastes just like a milkshake!
To make my smoothie recipes creamy, I like to use avocado. The Avocado adds essential healthy fats and makes this smoothie amazing for your skin. Using frozen banana adds to the creaminess.
This recipe contains good carbs, healthy fats, and good protein, so it’s a well balanced breakfast smoothie! Cacao contains powerful antioxidants that are so good for you! I like to add a bit of maca too, although this is totally optional. Maca is amazing for balancing hormones, high in antioxidants and nutrients, such as vitamin C, copper and iron and is a great mood booster. I personally take maca every day and this is a great way to do it.
Recipe- Morning Mocha Chocolate Breakfast Smoothie
- 2 to 4 teaspoons cacao powder (cocoa powder will work)
- 1 medium frozen banana
- 1 tsp coffee
- 1/3 medium avocado
- pinch cinnamon & vanilla
- 1/2 cup almond milk (or as needed)
- 1 tsp maca (optional)
- 1 Tablespoon nut butter (almond or cashew)
- Blend all ingredients together until smooth
- Serve chilled & enjoy
