A porridge recipe made with maca and topped with super food nourishing ingredients for a wholesome breakfast.
I’ve been having my porridge cooked this way every day for the past few weeks and I’m loving it so much. I added loads of super foods which are amazingly good for the body, mind and health to give myself the best possible start to the day.
This maca porridge recipe is not only amazing for you, it tastes really delicious too and keeps you full and satisfied for hours. It makes me feel so good when I eat wholesome food!
Maca– Maca has been proven to boost the immune system, energy, memory and focus. It also assists in balancing hormones meaning it’s great for the skin too.
Especially if you suffer from hormonal acne. Maca also contains over 20 amino acids and 20 free-form fatty acids. As well as being rich in Vitamins B-1, B-2, C and E, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Phosphorus, Selenium, Sulphur, Sodium, Iron and Phytonutrients.
Goji Berries– Provide high levels of antioxidants and nutrients so are amazing for keeping your skin clear and healthy.
Chia Seeds– Are naturally grain and gluten free. One serving contains as much calcium as a glass of milk, more Omega-3s than a serving of walnuts and the same amount of antioxidants as blueberries. They are also a good source of plant based protein.
Coconut Flakes– Contain protein, fibre, iron and zinc.
Blueberries– Rich in iron, phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, manganese, zinc and vitamin K, Vitamin C, vitamin A, and various phytonutrients. They also contain collagen which supports healthy skin and prevents wrinkles.
Cacao Nibs– Are a great alternative to chocolate. They contain polyphenol antioxidants, which have anti ageing properties. Also rich in flavonoids, magnesium, and potassium.

Maca Porridge
Ingredients
- 1 cup gluten free oats
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp maca powder
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Toppings as you like
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a small sauce pan
- Bring to boil on a medium heat
- Lower the heat and leave to simmer, stirring occasionally until your desired consistency, add more liquid if necessary
- Transfer to a bowl and add your toppings
