Chocolate and cherries, a flavour match made in heaven!
Not only is this chocolate cherry smoothie heavenly smooth, thick and super delicious, but it is also very nutritious and full of nutrition. It’s full of powerful antioxidants, dietary fibers, vitamins, minerals and plant-based proteins, making it very nourishing and amazing for your health.
Sweet cherries, banana, almond butter and cacao are blended with almond milk to create this healthy, rich and yummy smoothie.
It will leave you feeling amazing, full and energised. Cacao not only gives the delicious chocolate flavour, but it is also a natural mod booster, and full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. I used a bit of maca too for it’s hormone balancing properties, but this is optional.
Cherries provide natural sweetness and have lot of health benefits such as dietary fibers and vitamins such as vitamin A, vitamin c, B1, B2, B3, B6, and also many essential minerals, like potassium, calcium, iron, and magnesium. That’s why cherries are not only amazing for your health, but they make your skin glow too.

This smoothie is great for breakfast, as a snack, or even in the evening. The dark sweet cherries and raw cacao powder help with full body relaxation, and muscle recovery, making this great post workout too.
Cherry Chocolate Smoothie Ingredients
You need the following simple ingredients to make this cherry chocolate shake.
- frozen cherries – fresh cherries work too. Frozen gives a creamier texture
- banana – frozen banana works too
- unsweetened almond milk – any plant-based milk or milk of choice such as oat milk, coconut milk, soy milk, hemp milk or cashew milk
- almond butter

cacao powder – can sub for unsweetened cocoa powder
Optional Add Ins –
- your favorite chocolate protein powder – for extra protein
- maple syrup

hemp seeds
- a handful of leafy greens
- almond extract
- flax seeds – for a protein boost and fatty acids
- baby spinach
- more fresh fruit
- chocolate chips
- cacao nibs
- vanilla extract
- tablespoon of chia seeds
- maca powder – for extra nutrients
- smoothie bowl – serve this as a smoothie bowl with your favourite toppings
How to Make Chocolate Cherry Delicious Smoothie
- add all ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Add more liquid if needed.
- Pour smoothie into a glass and enjoy.
Chocolate Cherry Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 cups of frozen cherries pitted
- 1 banana
- 1 cup almond milk more or less depending on desired consistency - any non-dairy milk or cows milk will work
- 2 tbsp almond butter
- 2 tbsp cacao cocoa powder will work too
Instructions
- Simple add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth
- Pour smoothie into a glass and enjoy.
