Vegan Red Velvet Baked Donut Ingredients

You need the following simple ingredients to make red velvet cake donuts.

  • Almond Milk – any plant based milk or cows milk will work
  • Apple cider vinegar or lemon juice – white vinegar will work
  • Buckwheat flour – can use a gluten free flour blend or all purpose flour if you don’t need this recipe to be vegan
  • Coconut sugar – brown sugar would work well but any granulated sugar will work
  • coco powder
  • beets – we use this instead of red food coloring to get that rich red colour
  • coconut oil – can sub for melted butter
  • powdered sugar
  • coconut milk – must be full fat – can also skip this and make a cream cheese frosting instead
  • vanilla extract
