Tuna Rice Cake Ingredients

You need the following ingredients that can be easily found at your grocery store, to make this easy snack.

  • canned tuna – I used tuna stored in spring water
  • Avocado
  • lemon – can sub for lime juice
  • paprika – can sub for your favorite spices
  • rice cakes
  • red onion – can sub for green onions
  • spicy mayo – can use regular mayo

Tuna Rice Cake Variations

  • jalapeño – add a thin slice of jalapeño for an extra kick
  • poke bowls – skip the rice cakes and serve your tuna mixture with sushi rice, sticky rice, white rice or brown rice and your favorite veggies to make a poke bowl
  • sesame seeds – add a sprinkle of sesame seeds, you can even add some sesame oil into the mixture for extra flavor
  • soy sauce – add some soy sauce to the tuna mixture

How to Make Tuna Rice Cakes

  1. Mash your avocado and add to a mixing bowl
  2. Add the rest of your ingredients except the red onion and mix together
  3. Add the mixture on top of your rice cakes and top with chopped red onion
  4. Store any leftover tuna mixture in an airtight container or small bowl covered in plastic wrap in the fridge for 2 days
