Easy and Healthy, Delicious Cherry Bakewell Porridge.

This has been my go to breakfast recently and I am so excited to share it with you. Cherry Bakewell Tart is one of my favourite desserts so having it in a healthy, delicious breakfast is just perfect for me!

Cherry Bakewell Porridge Recipe

You need the following ingredients to make cherry almond porridge

  • oats – quick oats or rolled oats will work. Gluten free if necessary
  • almond milk – any milk will work
  • fresh cherries – can use frozen cherries too, can sub for any fruit of your choice
  • almond butter – can sub for any nut butter
  • ground almonds
  • chia seeds
  • vanilla extract – can sub for almond extract or almond essence
  • maple syrup – can sub for any liquid sweetener such as agave or honey

Suggested Toppings

  • fresh fruit
  • little extra maple syrup to drizzle on top
  • plain yoghurt or cherry yoghurt
  • flaked almonds

How to Make Cherry Bakewell Porridge

Here’s how to make cherry bakewell porridge, full recipe details in the recipe card at the end of this post.

  • Put the oats, ground almonds, almond milk, vanilla extract, and water into a small saucepan and  over a medium heat.
  • Cook for 5-6 minutes, or until thick and creamy, stirring regularly.
  • Roughly chop the cherries and add to the chia seeds, microwave for 1 minute. Then mash with a fork to get a jammy consistency.
  • Transfer porridge to a bowl and top with cherry chia jam and almond butter

Cherry Bakewell Porridge, for a satisfying and filling breakfast.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup rolled oats (gluten free if necessary)
  • 1 cup Almond milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 fresh cherries stoned
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp ground almonds
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp organic vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp water

Optional Toppings

  • Almond butter
  • flaked almonds
