Deliciously thick, rich and fudgy chocolate brownies that are filled with cherries and walnuts. You only need eight simple ingredients to make these. Gluten-free, refined sugar free and dairy-free treat packed with cakey chocolate goodness!

Vegan Chocolate Cherry Brownies

You just need the simple following ingredients to make these cherry brownie recipe.

  • dairy free butter – can use coconut oil
  • dark chocolate, chocolate chunks or chocolate chips
  • chia eggs – flax eggs will also work, normal eggs will work if you don’t need this to be vegan
  • coconut sugar – brown sugar or white sugar will also work. Liquid sweetener such as maple syrup won’t work in this recipe
  • buckwheat flour – can use any gluten free flour blend or all purpose flour
  • cherries – can use frozen or fresh cherries
  • walnuts

How to Make Vegan Cherry Brownies

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C/ 350°f
  2. Melt together Flora Dairy Free and chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Then add in the chia eggs and the melted chocolate mixture and mix until combined. Fold in the cherries and walnuts
  4. Transfer the brownie batter into a prepared 20cm square tin prepared with parchment paper. Smooth down the top  with a spatula.
  5. Bake in centre of preheated oven for 35-40 minutes
  6. Leave to cool in the tin completely before slicing and enjoying.
  7. Store your vegan cherry brownies in an airtight container at room temperature

  • cocoa powder – add some cocoa powder for extra rich chocolate flavor
  • vanilla extract – add some vanilla extract for extra flavor
  • different fruit – swap the cherries for different fresh fruits such as strawberries or raspberries

  • 110 g Flora Dairy Free
  • 50 g dairy-free and gluten free dark chocolate
  • 2 chia eggs (normal eggs will work too)
  • 225 g coconut sugar (any granulated sugar will work)
  • 50 g buckwheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 25 g cherries pitted and chopped
  • 25 g walnuts roughly chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180°C/ 350°f

  • Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Then add in the chia eggs and chocolate mixture and mix until combined. Fold in the cherries and walnuts
