Warm and Nourishing Homemade Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

As soon as the weather gets colder I always crave oatmeal for breakfast. Oatmeal is the perfect breakfast for autumn, warm, nourishing and energising. I look forward to it every morning.

Now it’s apple season, my current favorite way to have oats in the morning is this delicious homemade cinnamon apple oatmeal!

If you love those little packets of instant apples and cinnamon oatmeal then you need to try this homemade version. It takes a little more time, but is so worth it and it tastes even better!

Apple Pie Porridge

This cinnamon apple oatmeal tastes just like fall. Like eating dessert for breakfast, how can you go wrong!

This cinnamon apple oatmeal has cooked softened fresh apples, warm gooey dates, creamy almond butter, a hint of cinnamon and crunchy chopped nuts and coconut flakes.

A deliciously creamy oatmeal with cinnamon spices to make a wholesome breakfast that will keep you full for hours.

Apple Pie Porridge

I absolutely love this. It’s thick, creamy, flavourful and so satisfying. The texture of the apples, chopped nuts and coconut flakes is divine. A drizzle of almond butter makes this extra creamy. Plus it’s only sweetened by dates for a touch of sweetness.

You only need a handful of ingredients to make this easy oatmeal recipe.

It makes the house smell amazing and is a powerhouse of nutrition. Oats provide fibre and sustained energy whilst the chopped nuts, and almond butter add a hit of protein to keep you nice and full. And you even get one of your five a day!

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and I think it’s well worth the little effort to make it extra special. I also think this would be perfect for when you have guests stay over or for lazy weekend chilly mornings. Plus as this is dairy free, vegan, and gluten free all can enjoy.

This simple recipe also makes great meal prep. Make ahead of time and when you’re ready to enjoy add a splash of milk and heat up on the stove top or microwave.
